The Swallows Holiday Cottage is located in Cripplestyle near Fordingbridge in Hampshire. Cripplestyle is an area of ‘Outstanding Natural Beauty’ and King Barrow Hill (which is opposite the property) has been designated a SSSI site (Site of Special Scientific Interest). It is in a small rural hamlet on the edge of the New Forest, situated between Fordingbridge and Cranborne, close to the River Avon.

Set amidst the countryside, with narrow lanes and bridleways; ideal for walking, cycling and birdwatching.

There are 3 pubs within a mile from The Swallows Cottage, where you can enjoy a hearty country atmosphere and good food and drink.


Dorset, Hampshire and The New Forest boasts a large number of attractions for the family, both outdoor and indoor. The area has countless museums covering a wide range of topics from butterflies to fossils and vintage cars to army tanks. Animal lovers can visit Monkey World in Bovington, recognised as a leading site for ape rescue and rehabilitation or Farmer Palmer’s Farm Park which operates alongside a genuine working farm. To experience times gone by, take a trip on Swanage Steam Railway through some of Dorset’s most lovely countryside. For an active day, clamber over the timber play structures at Moors Valley Park or just enjoy the forest walks. The beach is set among five kilometres of golden sand starting at the Sandbanks peninsula in Poole Bay leading on to Canford Cliffs, Bournemouth beach and finishing at Hengistbury Head. Avon Beach, Christchurch, Dorset, is sandy beach with views towards the Isle of Wight This is an ideal beach for families and has plenty of soft sand for making sand castles. Canoes and deck chairs are also available for hire depending on how active you’re feeling. Swanage Central Beach, Swanage Dorset is a sandy beach backed by colourful gardens. This is an excellent family beach with gently sloping sands and safe sheltered swimming. Activities on the water include sailing, windsurfing and diving. Canoe and pedalo hire is also available.
	Water Sports The local beaches and harbours provide a wide range of exciting water sports including sailing, windsurfing, kite-surfing, canoeing, power boating, jet-skiing and many more. Visit the local tourist information offices for instructor coarse and hire. Many boat tours are available as well in various locations and is ideal way to enjoy this Jurassic coastline.
